Choosing the right compression level

Light — barely changes quality, modest size reduction. Best for high-quality archiving.

Balanced — recommended for most sharing. Good quality with a meaningful size cut.

Strong — smallest file, more visible compression. Good when size matters most.

Tips

Phone recordings and screen captures compress the most, since they're often recorded at unnecessarily high bitrates.

Already-compressed videos (from YouTube downloads, etc.) won't shrink as much.

Compression can take a minute or two for longer videos — a progress bar keeps you informed.
