About FreeOfficeTools
FreeOfficeTools — also written as Free Office Tools — is a free office toolkit for the everyday document work that sits between the applications you own. Fixing a typo in a PDF someone else produced, combining a month of invoices into one file, signing a contract without printing it, getting a video down to an emailable size, turning an iPhone photo into something a submission form will accept.
There are 38 tools across three groups. The PDF tools cover editing, merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, watermarking and page management, plus conversion to and from images. The document converters handle Word, Excel and PowerPoint in both directions. The media tools convert and compress video, audio and images, and read, write or strip the metadata hidden inside photographs.
What makes the toolkit unusual is where the work happens. The PDF and media tools run entirely inside your browser tab — your file is read from your disk, processed in your device's memory and saved straight back, never transmitted. That removes the upload wait, removes any file-size limit set by a server, and removes the question of what happens to a confidential document after you close the tab. The six Office converters are the honest exception: high-fidelity conversion needs a document engine a browser cannot run, so those files are sent over an encrypted connection, converted, returned, and not stored.
