Rearranging pages by dragging

Every page appears as a thumbnail you can pick up and drop somewhere else. The pages around it shift to make room, numbering updates as you go, and nothing is written to a file until you download — so you can shuffle a document as many times as it takes to get it right.

Seeing the pages while you move them is the point. Page 47 of a scan is a number; a thumbnail of page 47 is recognisably the signature page, which is how you spot that it belongs before the appendix rather than after it.

Why pages end up in the wrong order

Sheet-fed scanning

Feeding a stack face-up or in reverse produces a document that runs backwards from end to start.

Duplex scans

Scanning all the fronts and then all the backs interleaves the pages in an order nobody can read.

After a merge

Combining files puts each document's pages together in a block, which is rarely the reading order you want.

Late additions

A cover letter or an appendix produced after the fact lands at the end and needs moving to the front.

Reordering is lossless

Rearranging changes the sequence pages are listed in, nothing else. Pages are not re-rendered or re-compressed, so text stays selectable, images keep every pixel, and the file size after reordering matches the file size before it.

The whole operation runs in your browser, so a document you are reordering precisely because it is confidential never travels anywhere to be reordered.
