Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC — a modern format that keeps quality at about half the file size. The catch is that many Windows PCs, Android phones, web uploaders and older apps still can't open HEIC, so the photos show up as “unsupported”.

Converting HEIC to JPG turns those Apple photos into the format everything understands, so you can attach them to email, upload them to forms and websites, or share them with anyone regardless of device. JPG's compression also keeps the files small and quick to send.

The HEIC file is decoded and re-encoded to JPG directly in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded to a server — handy for personal pictures you'd rather keep private. Select a whole folder of HEIC photos at once and every one converts in the same batch.
