PNG is the right target when your WebP has a transparent background. Both formats store an alpha channel, so the cut-out stays a genuine cut-out — logos, icons, stickers and product shots keep their see-through edges instead of picking up a white box the way they would as a JPG.
PNG is also lossless, which makes it the safer format for anything you plan to keep editing. You can open the result in any editor, mark it up and re-save repeatedly without accumulating the compression artifacts that build up each time a lossy file is re-encoded.

Yes. PNG supports an alpha channel just like WebP, so transparent areas stay transparent rather than being filled with white.
Is the conversion lossless?
The PNG itself is lossless, but it can only preserve what the WebP already contains. Detail the original WebP discarded can't be recovered — nothing further is lost from here on.
Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP?
WebP compresses far more aggressively than PNG. Storing every pixel exactly costs space, which is the trade-off for lossless quality and easy editing.
